50 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS AND WITH A SIGNATURE SOURDOUGH CRUST

Red Boy Pizza was founded in 1969 and began as a single, 90-square-foot location in San Francisco, California. Founders Peter and Kitty Forstner owned and operated the business for more than 35 years, centering the entire experience around authentic sourdough crust exclusively from Bordenave's Bakery in neighboring San Rafael. Peter named the restaurant Red Boy Pizza after a drawing he had created as a young boy in his native Germany, the original Red Boy.

Today, though Peter and Kitty have retired, Red Boy Pizza remains a family-owned business. Each pizza is hand-crafted to perfection, providing the kind of quality and attention to freshness you can only find here in the San Francisco Bay Area. From our dough to sauces and toppings, to our pastas and desserts, Red Boy Pizza uses only the freshest ingredients. The foundation of each pizza remains the sourdough crust, the mother dough of which was originally brought from in 1918. Our signature sauce is produced from fresh, hand-picked, California tomatoes. Combined with the finest herbs, spices, and other special ingredients, Red Boy Pizza produces the highest quality pizza you will ever taste!

There are now seven Red Boy Pizza restaurants in Marin, Sonoma and Alameda counties. Most Red Boy Pizza restaurants are both dine in and take out and offer free delivery to select areas. ABOUT OUR FOOD

It is our mission to source as many LOCAL INGREDIENTS as possible. Our Sourdough is vegan, meaning NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS. Coming from a mother dough DATING BACK TO 1928, it contains simply flour, water, and yeast. It is naturally low in sugar and made with no preservatives. Our pizza sauce is MADE FRESH IN-HOUSE using California tomatoes and red wine, with more spices than you care to know about! We use 100% REAL CALIFORNIA CHEESE. We offer a local gluten-free crust made with rice, tapioca, and potato flours. Our pesto sauce does not contain any pine nuts or MSG and is non-GMO. Join us on our journey to PIZZA GREATNESS.
